Options & IAG

On this page you can find information about the difference options at UCC, as well as information and guidance about your future and career choices. Please contact Mr Moss for more information (rmoss@ullswatercc.co.uk).
We are proud of the careers education, information, advice and guidance (CEIAG) we give our students. They are encouraged to have high aspirations for their futures and are supported through a programme of learning, skills development, engagement with employers and one-to-one mentoring. More information on CEIAG can be found on the policy here.

Our impressive programme of CEIAG opportunities is continually developing. We work in partnership with organisations such as Inspira and Hello Future to provide a wide range of support to help students plan for the future. They can also explore the wider world of opportunities using Kudos.

As part of the CEIAG programme, all Year 10 and 12 students take part in a week’s work experience at the end of the summer term, the aim of which is to encourage them to develop a greater awareness of the world of work.  Alongside this, students in Year 10 participate in a ‘ready for work’ interview day with representatives of local businesses and other members of the wider school community. At the end of the year they also take part in a Futures Fair, where they can interact further with a range of local employers, apprenticeship providers, colleges and higher education establishments.  There is further information about provider access information on the policy here.

Additionally, students in all year groups can participate in a range of extra-curricular activities, run by the subject departments, many of which encourage them to consider their future options. Please contact Mr Moss for more information (rmoss@ullswatercc.co.uk), or call 01768 210206.
