“Today we went on our coach to the boat dock and gor a boat to an island. On the island we went into a Murano glass factory and shop. We watched a bowl and a horse being made. It only took a minute. Afterwards we had some free time and looked around. The only bad thing that happened was that we lost Mrs Richardson, she had walked off and not come back. After that we got back on our boat and went to Venice. We went to St Mark’s Square and then we walked to Campo San Stefano and got some ice-cream (I got pizza). We cam to a bridge the Acaademia bridge, there were lots of paddlocks locked to it with comments on left by lovers who wanted to keep their love safe and true. Later that day we went to the beach for a while and went back to our hotel for tea – it was pizza.”
We visited Aqualand for the day, the biggest water park in Italy. Highlights of the day were the awesome flumes, the terrifying wave machine and being attacked by pirates. There were also lots of shows to see and plenty of rays to soak up. We have seen Aztec basketball stunt men, an amazing dancing parrot, Peter Pan diving of the high board and some bungee jumpers. Not too bad on the sun burn side of things, we were pretty careful. Tired now but still ready for the delights of Jesolo by night.
“Today we went to Aqualandia. We walked there with much complaining. The slides were amazing, we’re pretty sure most of the slides would be banned in the UK. One of the slides was pretty much vertical. When we were sat waiting to leave the water park, after 8 hours of fun, we got attacked by a mob of pirates. The pirates were holding long swords at us. Emily found this extremely scary. However too much fun in the sun leads to sun burn and Emily won the prize for that. We are all tired by having a great time.”

“Today we went to Aqualandia, I had a great time by going in the wave pool and going on the rides. My favourite thing was the wave pool because the waves were massive.”
“Today we went to Aqualandia and it was amazing! Gemma and I went on the Crazy River 9 times and got stuck on the 8th go. We also went on the Toboggans 8 times.” Caitlin
“I had a really good day today! Swimming was amazing. I enjoyed it so much. My favourite part of the day was going down one of the water slides. We are all very sunburnt but that didn’t stop us having a great time.”

Today was our trip to Venice itself. Here are some of the diaries:
“I had a cold meat sandwich from a vintage sandwich shop on the canal of Venice. I bought an oil painting of Venice for my dad and a boat in a bottle for my brother. Today we also saw some very nice houses, the houses in Italy are beautiful. We are travelling by boat very often which is very relaxing and different to England. The hotel food is delicious and serves every taste.”
“Today we went to Venice and St Mark’s Square which had very beautiful buildings. Then we went to the Doges Palace which was really interesting.”
“I have had a good experience so far. I have learnt a lot about Italy and I’m getting better at learning my Italian language. This trip has had mostly ups but I have had some downs by standing on my roommate’s straightners and the next day getting stung by a jelly fish. I can’t wait for what‘s coming next, I’m looking forward to it.”
“Today we went to Venice on the boat and in Venice we had pasta for dinner and we went to St Mark’s square and took photos of the tower. After that we went to the beach which is full of people trying to sell you sunglasses and bracelets.”
“Today we went into Venice. We went on the boat which was great. In Venice we went into the Doge’s Palace, which was filled with amazing art work and where I learnt about exciting parts of Venetian history.”
In the evening, at supper, we celebrated Ryan Hogg’s birthday, the hotel staff brought him out a huge birthday cake, we all sang loudly and the cake was delicious.
"Firstly we got up in the morning and went down to a breakfast of cereal, yoghurt, bread, jam, meats and cheeses. Then we caught the 9 o’clock coach to the harbour and a launch to the islands of the Venice lagoon. It was very sunny and hot. The first island we visited was Torcello where we visited a 1000 year old church. Then we sailed to Burano for lunch. Burano was very pretty with colourful houses and lots of shops selling lace. We were allowed to go off by ourselves and we went to a restaurant and sat outside in the sun eating pizza. Next we went back to the beach near our hotel to have some fun in the afternoon. Finally we had tea at the hotel and then went out into town for some shopping and more ice-cream! Tomorrow we are going to Venice but for now, bed as we are very tired! Good night.

Got here safe and sound. Everyone on the plane with us wanted to know exactly which hotel the 43 English children were staying in! Had a huge feast on our first night of pasta, chicken and chips. Very warm at 28 degrees at night. Looking forward to tomorrow.
