- Update: Monday the 16th, Wednesday the 18th and Monday the 23rd of September are now fully booked -
From the 16th of September, we will be welcoming Year 6 students and their parents and carers to attend one of our group tours of the school. These guided visits are a wonderful way to see the school in action, to ask questions and get a feel for life at UCC. To book in, please complete the form here and return to the Reception at UCC as soon as possible. For more information, please feel free to contact our Reception.
It may be the middle of August but with GCSE Results Day next week, we are gearing up for the start of term. Mrs Richardson has written a letter about uniform guidelines for the new term. The school's expectations for uniform can be seen on our Uniform page and you can read the full letter here.
School blazers can be purchased from any retailer, both Sam Scotts and Lakeland Embroidery in Penrith have supplies of the UCC badge. In September 2019 we are introducing a new PE kit which can be purchased here. Current PE kit is still acceptable, but once students require new kit it will only be available online. Samples will be available in student services for sizing only. Student services also stock stationery kits, revision guides and school ties, that students can purchase at break or lunchtime.
Mr Greenwood has recently written a letter for Year 6 parents and carers including information about an additional PE kit sizing evening on Tuesday the 16th of July from 4-6pm. To read the full letter, please click here.
Our primary science event has been running over last week and into this week, featuring over 450 students from 31 primary schools in the local area. We also had a team from The Lakes Egg Company with Sainsbury’s, who provided the eggs and strawberries!
They all took part in two activities linked to space exploration. They had great fun designing parachutes to land their astronauts (eggs) safely plus extracting the DNA from alien fruit (strawberries). With some impressive teamwork skills, feedback has been amazing!
We are very pleased to invite students currently in Year 5 at primary school, and their parents, to our Open Evening on Thursday night. The evening will be running with an introduction in the Westmorland Hall at 5pm for primaries in or close to town and an introduction at 6.30pm for primaries further from town. The school will be open to showcase all the things that go on here at UCC and there will be opportunities to chat to students and staff. There is a little more information in the poster below. If you have any questions at all, please feel free to contact us. We look forward to seeing you on Thursday!
We'd love to invite students and parents to attend our Year 5 Open Evening on Tuesday the 19th of June at 5pm and 6.30pm in the Westmorland Hall.
