The story Giants project was organised by Extended Services and funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund. 18 schools from across Eden were involved. Each school worked with Story Teller Dominic Kelly to develop a local story. The schools then performed their stories outside St Andrews Church on May Day. The Giants were then paraded through Penrith. The UCC giant was the dead sweet heart of wicked Jimmy Lowther and the 12 Year 7 students told the gruesome tale of how Jimmy had refused to have her buried for 6 weeks after she died (a true story). Jimmy then died in a drunken horse ride before haunting the streets of Penrith.

It has been a very exciting project culminating in a brilliant May Day, even though the UCC giants head fell off 1/2 way through the parade.
