Yesterday was GCSE results day and here at UCC we are, once again, very proud of our Year 11 students. The Cumberland Hall was full of students receiving their results and organising their places for September.
This year the pass rate for all subject entries was 99.3%, 43% of which were at A*-B grades. In English, 80% of students achieved A*-C grades and in mathematics three-quarters of students achieved this standard. 29% of students achieved 1 or more A*/A grade and on the headline figure of 5+ A*-C grades including English and mathematics, 61.5% of students achieved this outcome, matching last year’s overall result. Nine students achieved A*/A grades in eight or more subjects – congratulations to Charlotte Cousin, Rebecca Crisp, Emma Cunningham, Alexander Fawcett, Amy Hullock, Adam Robinson, Melanie Pole-Baker, Ruby Scarlett, and Fergus Vecqueray.
Mr Pattinson is ‘delighted... These results are proof of the hard work of students and the dedication of all of my teaching staff” and Alan Davis, the Chair of Governors, said that the Governors were “once again delighted with this year’s results and very proud of the achievements of our students... Following on from last week’s outstanding A-level results, this has been a most successful year for UCC students.”
We look forward to welcoming 147 students back as Sixth Formers in September.
Congratulations to all of the students who received such wonderful results.
