We are pleased to congratulate the 2019 GCSE students on today's results. Mr Gilby has said: “UCC couldn’t be more proud to serve our children, their families and the communities they come from. Everyone will be aware that this year there are more changes than ever to the grading system, grade boundaries and performance measures. As with every year there are a number of queries over re-marks and grade boundaries and so, once the official DfE September checking exercise has been completed we will issue our headline data. For now, it is essential we focus on the real stars of today; the students. It has been wonderful to see the many smiling faces of the students and to support them into their next chapter. Staff, parents and carers all deserve an enormous thanks for the effort put into supporting our young people.”
A big well done to Year 11 as they celebrated the end of the exams with their prom at the Roundthorn. Congratulations on all you've accomplished in your five years at UCC - we look forward to welcoming back those who are attending Sixth Form at UCC next year and good luck to those who are moving on to apprenticeships, jobs or further training. Well done! You can see a selection of your photos in this term's Success Magazine or in your prom gallery below:
In the lead up to May half-term, Mr Forrest has written to parents and carers to confirm the exam revision session arrangements for half-term and to clarify the final arrangements for students as they enter these final weeks of Year 11. You can view the letter in full here and the half-term intervention revision sessions calendar here.
Good luck in the next few weeks Year 11!
At Ullswater Community College we are always looking to provide opportunities for our students to engage in meaningful and high quality revision. In these important, remaining weeks before the commencement of GCSE examinations, the school has adopted a unique online service which provides access to revision material for a wide range of subjects. This service is called SAM Learning.
For more information about this revision tool, please see this recent letter to parents.
With exams fast approaching the Year 11 Intervention Calendar has now been published.
