We are pleased to offer a fantastic opportunity to students in the form of the Silver Duke of Edinburgh Award. The qualification is all about students going the extra mile, gaining new skills, pushing themselves physically, helping others and exploring new territories. At the same time they will make new friendships and gather experiences and memories that will last a life time. A letter is available here with more information and there is also a consent form to be filled out for those wanting to take part.
More than 50 Bronze D of E students attended after-school training where they honed their skills of plotting a route, estimating distances and walking times, and taking bearings. By the end of the session they had worked in their teams to plan their expedition route as well as producing maps and route cards. Excitement is building for their expedition in May!
